Welcome to the Heanton community website
This is the website for the people and parish of Heanton Punchardon, including Heanton, Wrafton and Chivenor, in North Devon. Its aim is to help the community by sharing news, publicising events and airing any issues that may arise.
Like any website, it's only as good as its contributors, so please use the Contact Us page to let us know what's going on, give us dates for the diary, or just have your say.

Neighbourhood Plan survey success
1 IN 7 OF PARISH RESIDENTS
RESPOND TO OUR SURVEY ON
PLANNING PRIORITIES
Almost 200 people responded to our
Neighbourhood Plan survey in July-August 2018, representing more than 11% of households in the parish and more than 13% of residents.
The overwhelming view was that we should maintain the village/rural nature of the parish, and the green spaces between, and prevent development of the hillsides which overlook the estuary. More than 4 in 5 respondents favoured the development of a major coastal wetlands Nature Reserve in the parish, while a similar number wanted to see more medical and educational facilities provided.
We will be circulating an update Newsletter during the summer, to all residents. In the meantime, if you would like to read the full survey report, click here.
If you would like more information on the Neighbourhood Plan, you can get in touch with the HPNP Team via the Contact Us button (left).

What's On
Sadly, the famous Heanton Agricultural Cricket Match has been a casualty of the coronavirus this year. We aim to have it back on the calendar in 2021, D.V. However, for reasons connected to the annual spate of awful weather in the lead-up to the August Bank Holiday, we are contemplating moving the match to the Bank Holiday at the end of May, when it's generally gorgeous. Plus, we would have less mowing to do. Watch this space.
